The African Eagles (albeit, Super Eagles) defeated the
Indomitable Lions for three reasons. (1)
the Eagles have superior individual players, (2) the lions failed to capitalize
on the Eagles sluggish start and poor ball-handling, and (3) the Eagles 8-man
defensive stand neutralized Cameroon’s game plan (Cameroon came prepared for
the customary Nigeria’s all-out attack).
The Eagles will win if:
(1) Gernot Rohr must play a 9-man defense.
(2) Nigeria starts the first 15 minutes of the game
strong
(3) Nigeria gears up its ball-handling and team work.
(4) It is imperative that Nigeria gets Ola Aina into the
game, early.
