The Central Issue: No system of government will function in Nigeria while people in the leading positions are poised to undermine the system!

The Central Issue:  No system of government will function in Nigeria while people in the leading positions are poised to undermine the system!

It was laughable to read what intellectual Nigerians had to say about the government of Nigeria during the inaugural lecture of the Oba Sikiru Adetona Professorial Chair in Governance, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye.  Reading what these elites had to say left the impression that there is a system of government that will function in Nigeria.  Given the state of Nigeria, the thought of a governmental system that will work is a fallacy.

Mr. Godwin Emefiele, the former managing director of Zenith Bank, is now the President of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).  Mr. Emefiele watched as billions of naira was stolen from the Nigeria’s treasury without doing anything.  If President Buhari dismisses Mr. Emefiele as Governor CBN for continuing to sabotage Nigeria’s economy, constructively; Niger Delta Avengers will ignite another salvo of Pipe Line Destruction.

The Buhari government will eventually address policies and systems of government in Nigeria.  However, in the interim will Professor Akin Mabogunje; Oba Sikiru Adetona; Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi and Ex-Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba, please address the issues of corruption in public office; terrorist groups; and the need to undermine and frustrate the federal government by political parties.  It was shocking to learn that PDP senators vowed to stymie the Buhari-led administration by any means possible.

No system of government will function in Nigeria as long as so many interest groups are prepared to derail the system.

Central Issue: The disarray in PDP will cause economic hardships for Nigerians!

There is an economic hardship in the horizon for Nigerians as PDP unravels and its core splinters.  For many years, PDP chieftains and their cronies used Nigeria’s treasury as their personal bank account.  The primary source of PDPs revenue dried out when PDP lost the reins of the Federal Government, and the loss of their main sources of funds created bickering in its ranks.  As they say, money problems are behind many marital separations.  In the efforts to hide its fracturing power-structure, PDP blamed President Buhari and his administration for every woe in Nigeria including Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, PDP’s emblem going on self-exile.
Now that its weak attempt to divert the people’s attention is failing, including its instigation of terrorist groups in its stronghold areas, PDP is yet to find a satisfactory explanation to the people why the party grossly mal-handled Nigeria’s revenue.  PDP finally fractured when the attempts to re-invent itself failed.  Now Nigeria has Senator Ahmed Makarfi led PDP; Senator Ali Modu Sheriff led PDP, and Chief Perry Opara led PDP.
The issue here is that PDP holds the economic power in Nigeria from the money they sequestered while controlling the Federal Government of Nigeria.  The party’s current state of disarray creates financial insecurity among PDP’s factional chieftains and their cronies, forcing them to start operating in austerity mode.  There will be an economic hardship in Nigeria as the group that controls the economy of Nigeria tightens their grip on cash flow into Nigeria’s economy.

Nevertheless, the fragmentation of PDP has some beneficial side effects to Nigeria, even though it will initially cause economic hardships.  The financial incentives to terrorist and militant groups in the South-South of Nigeria will dry up, thus, abating their destructive activities.

The Central Issue: Why is Zenith Bank so deeply entrenched in the manipulations of Nigeria’s politics?

In the state of Akwa Ibom, Governor Akpabio summarily dismissed Mr. Umana Okon Umana and replaced him with Mr. Udom Emmanuel as the SSG of Akwa Ibom.  Mr. Udom Emmanuel was an officer of Zenith Bank.  Currently, Emmanuel is the governor of Akwa Ibom state.
President Goodluck Jonathan summarily dismissed Mr. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and replaced him with Mr. Godwin Emefiele.  Emefiele was an officer of Zenith Bank.
It is impossible for people to steal trillions of naira of public funds and transfer the funds to foreign accounts without the blessings of the Central Bank of Nigeria.  It is not, therefore, a chance occurrence that the Central Bank of Nigeria is waging an underground war to discredit President Buhari and his administration, economically.
Recently, it surfaced that Zenith Bank funded the gubernatorial campaign of Dr. Ayo Fayose in Ekiti.
For every step forward, we take two backward.  How can we progress when the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Supreme Court of Nigeria are political wings?  We cannot successfully fight corruption with Mr. Godwin Emefiele as the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.  It is foolhardy to allow banking entities to dictate our political future.

The Central Issue: The Niger Delta Avengers' unrest will end in a blood bath.

A bloody confrontation between the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Niger Delta Avengers is inevitable.
Please, let it go on record that President Buhari is trying all diplomatic and political means to quell the Niger Delta Avengers' unrest.
In his political and diplomatic efforts, President Buhari has talked with the Ex-President of Nigeria, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, who is an Ijaw man; and Government Ekpemupolo (AKA Tompolo), an activist and friend of the Avengers, among others, but to no avail.

Eventually, the Nigeria military will move in and squash these Ijaw misguided children then peoples such as Senator Ben Murray-Bruce will conveniently forget all the peaceful efforts the federal government attempted to abate the situation. Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and his type have only one interest, to undermine President Buhari, and they do not care how they achieve it.

The Central Issue: Nigeria is at War!

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has declared full-scale war against Nigeria, to punish Nigerians for not returning them to power in Nigeria.  From the shapes of things brewing in the PDP camp, Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, the ceremonial leader of PDP ran to Ivory Coast.  After 16 years of wantonly embezzling government funds, PDP chieftains and their affiliates controls most of the means of production in Nigeria.  To spite Nigeria, PDP is wreaking havoc on Nigeria’s economy, but disingenuously blaming the weak economy on President Buhari’s government.  For example, the price of crude oil fell from $100 a barrel to $33 a barrel; however, the PDP chieftains and their affiliates which control the petroleum outlet raised the price of petrol from N78 to N140.
Dr. Ayodele Fayose openly called for mayhem against President Buhari and his government from the Fajuyi Square, Ado-Ekiti.  The militant wing of the Ijaw people (calls itself different colorful names to camouflage its identity as Ijaw people) have embarked on crippling the petroleum industry in Nigeria.  For the eight years that Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, an Ijaw man, was in the presidency of Nigeria, the Ijaw people did not revolt; however, when Mr. Jonathan lost the presidential election, the Ijaw people are on a rampage.  Then, there is a group of Igbo PDP, who claim to be indigenous natives of an imaginary kingdom called Biafra.  True Igbo people are industrious and hard-working individuals who are proud to be Igbos.  The so called Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are mere clowns who have denied their noble heritage for political gains.  The Supreme Court of Nigeria is bent on arbitrarily and capriciously justifying PDP, regardless of the circumstances.

On the long-run, PDP will lose the war because crippling the well-being of the people of Nigeria is not a good way to save face.  Moreover, it is atrocious for PDP chieftains and their affiliates to nest billions of naira of public funds for their personal use in foreign countries.  PDP should be angry with itself for degenerating to a party of thieves; the party should not become upset because it was kicked out for stealing.  PDP should stop the war on Nigerians and drop the pretense that it is opposing President Buhari and his government.

The Central Issue: “Satanic Manipulations”

Senator Dino Melaye has indelibly imprinted the words “Satanic Manipulations,” into the collective consciousness of Nigerians because the phrase concisely and succinctly encapsulates the fiendishly unscrupulous control some state governors and their cronies have on the people.
The words, satanic manipulations bring to mind the treacherous and underhanded manner in which Mr. Godswill Akpabio handles the affairs of the state of Akwa Ibom.
The Mr. Akpabio’s overt ambition is to run for the presidency of Nigeria. To effect that desire, Akpabio needed to befriend members of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and continue ruling Akwa Ibom by proxy; and do all these at the expenses of Akwa Ibom State.  Thus, Akpabio dismissed Mr. Umana Okon Umana as SSG of Akwa Ibom and brought in Udom Emmanuel, who had no experience with governmental affairs and then embarked on a smoke and mirror Town-Hall political tour to select the next governor of Akwa Ibom even though Mr. Udom Emmanuel had already been assured of Akwa Ibom governorship; and conducted the Town-Hall Meetings as if PDP was a state owned political party.  After mortgaging the state of Akwa Ibom to PDP, Akpabio was made chairman, PDP Governors and eventually, the Senate Minority Leader.  Unfortunately for Akpabio, PDP is in search of a new direction, which does not include Akpabio’s desire to run for presidency.  Accordingly, Akpabio ordered Mr., Udom Emmanuel to organize a PDP convention in Port-Harcourt at the expense of Akwa Ibom and tabled that the Mr. Ali Modu Sheriff be removed as the National Chairman of PDP.
In the interim, the people are mesmerized with the guile of “Satanic Manipulations” using glitters such as government sponsored Guinness World Book of Records winning choir, and a 62 billion Naira stadium in a state where 80% are unemployed.

This is a fiendish control to achieve an overarching ambition.

The Central Issue: PDP should stop punishing Nigerians economically.

It is unfortunate that PDP has resorted to punishing Nigerians economically for not reelecting the party to power in Nigeria.
For 16 years PDP ruled and controlled the economy of Nigeria; however, about a year ago, the people voted PDP out of the Federal Government.
In retaliation, PDP decided to use the economic advantage it gained from 16 years of abuse to inflict economic hardship on the people.
In shameful and cowardly propaganda, the PDP’s machinery is trying to blame the government of President Buhari that took office about one year ago for the economic woes of the Nation: The economy of the nation that PDP dominated for 16 years and still control.

PDP should be ashamed of itself for the unwarranted punishment of the people because the people could no longer tolerate PDP’s wanton looting of Nigeria’s treasury.

The Central Issue: Nwannekaenyi Kanu; another excuse for President Buhari’s detractors!

First, it was the Ijaw Fighters inflicting damages to the economic infrastructure of Nigeria because their Ijaw person, Mr. Goodluck Jonathan was not made the president of Nigeria. The senseless agitation was welcomed by most leaders of the South-South and South-East states of Nigeria because it satiates their desires to undermine President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.  Then, the fellow called Nnamdi Kanu surfaced in Lagos.
Mr. Nwannekaenyi Kanu popularly known as Nnamdi Kanu, a political activist who claims to be the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) was arrested in a Lagos hotel.  Kanu had set up a broadcasting studio in the Lagos hotel where he was residing under the name of Nwannekaenyi Ezebuiro.
It is well known that Biafra was a famous social club in Nigeria with members from all works of life, but when Odumegwu Ojukwu adopted the name Biafra for his imaginary kingdom, Mr. Yakubu Gowon begged the group to drop the name.  Kanu is agitating to revive Ojukwu’s imaginary kingdom.
Nigeria has had its share of terrorists, and Kanu is gradually amassing militant supporters and therefore constitute a clear and present danger to the peace and welfare of Nigeria.  It is common knowledge that there are plenty of mentally unstable people in the world willing and able to inflict considerable damages to life and property, just for the fun of it.
The Central Issue is that the leaders of most of the states Nnamdi Kanu wishes to usurp into his Biafra have not come out to condemn Kanu’s deliberate attempts to undermine the integrity of Nigeria.  It is obvious that the governors and General Assemblies of these states would preferentially allow Nnamdi Kanu and his followers to challenge President Buhari’s administration rather than cater to the harmony and prosperity of Nigeria.

It is unfortunate that in the face of the imminent danger posed by Mr. Nwannekaenyi Kanu and his co-conspirators, leaders of many of the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones in Nigeria have deliberately used the dangerous delusions of Kanu and his followers to tarnish and demoralize the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.  Prominent among these rogue-states are Abia State, Akwa Ibom State, Bayelsa State, Cross River State, Delta State, Ebonyi State, Enugu State, and Rivers State.  A closer look at the states willing to cripple President Buhari’s government at the expense of the welfare of Nigeria shows that they are all PDP controlled states.

Much significance is not attached to the judicial outcome of Mr. Nwannekaenyi Kanu’s trial, because we all know of the whimsical rulings of the PDP-controlled Supreme Court of Nigeria.  Nevertheless, the leaders of these vengeful states should please consider the wellbeing of our beloved country, Nigeria.

These South-East and South-South state leader’s conspiracy of silence and manipulations betrays the depth they are willing to dive in the efforts to undermine the presidency of Muhammadu Buhari even if such conspiracy harms Nigeria and their fellow Nigerians.

The Judicial System of Nigeria: The power arm of a political party!

The Judicial branch represents the last remnant of PDP with power in the federal system of Nigeria and currently, the judiciary is on the mission to tear down APC, and the Senate President Bukola Saraki is just another victim.

APC leadership in the federal government has exercised schooling in handling the partisan rulings and practices of the judicial system.  However, the judicial system in Nigeria must not be allowed to continue operating as a political arm of PDP.

Femi Fani-Kayode

Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode has issued a statement likening the new chairperson of PDP, Mr. Ali Modu Sheriff to Jack the Ripper.  Of course, the silly analogy was made because Mr. Fani Kayode is scarred silly that PDP has chosen a man who sides with justice as their new chairperson.  Mr. Fani-Kayode would rather have PDP select someone like him, whose life revolves around finding flaws in President Buhari’s efforts to cure the ills of the Nation and oppose Mr. Buhari’s policies just for the sake of opposing!

The Central Issue is that Mr. Ali Modu Sheriff will collaborate with President Buhari’s anti-corruption efforts in Nigeria and that vexes Fani-Kayode.
Mr. Adamu Mu’azu, the former chairperson of PDP's policy of,

“Monkey must chop, baboon must chop”

has no place in post Goodluck Jonathan’s Nigeria.

Mr. Fani Kayode’s whimsical rhetoric is therefore, the rantings of a disgruntled child.

Open letter to Nigeria’s President, Senate and House of Representatives

Dear President Buhari and Members of the Nigeria Senate and the House of Representatives:

Re: Request to Impeach the Supreme Court of Nigeria

I humbly request that members of the sitting Supreme Court be impeached for the understated reasons.  The request is made upon grounds that the present cohort of the Supreme Court of Nigeria has postured to frustrate every effort to fight corruption in Nigeria contrary to the constitution of Nigeria.

On February 3, 2016, the Supreme Court of Nigeria ruled that Udom Emmanuel won the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state of Akwa Ibom because Udom Emmanuel won the lawfully cast votes.
The Supreme Court’s diabolical ruling certifies that some votes were not lawfully cast during the election.

We submit, therefore, that no vote was lawfully cast in the state of Akwa Ibom during the 2015 gubernatorial elections for the same reasons the Supreme Court proffers that some votes were not lawfully cast.

Every other ruling of the Supreme Court has demonstrated similar pro-corruption tendencies.

Based upon these reasons, we call on the president, the Nigeria Senate and the House of Representatives to use the powers of their high offices to impeach the sitting Supreme Court of Nigeria for the egregious ruling.

Edet Obuoho Abia
